The Future of Magazines - On a Tablet

Today I came across this impressive presentation by Sports Illustrated and The Wonderfactory for the new tablet version for Time Inc. magazines for 2010.

Rumour has it that Apple will be launching such a tablet MacBook next year. I'm pretty sure they'll do so. It's pretty logic for them to do so with their competences at that field. Basically it would be an enlargement of the iPhone with more computing power. If you look close at the tablet: the simplistic design, the menu and icons look very Apple-like. I wouldn't be to surprised if we (and publishers) just got a nice sneak preview at what will be the next blockbuster for Apple. Even if it won't turn out to be a blockbuster next year I am sure that such an Apple Tablet will shake up (or rescue?) the magazine market. And now other magazines are prepared for what the market will demand from them from next year on. 2010 is going to be an interesting year. Stay tuned :)

David Garrett - Fastest Violin Player (Guinness World Record)

Always wondered how fast one can play a violin? Then see this video. David Garrett broke his own record with "The Flight of the Bumblebee" in 2008 by playing 13 notes per second! Pretty impressive

Google announces free GPS Navigation App

That is probably the future of GPS navigation with a mobile phone. Wondering what happens when you are driving through an area with bad reception and you get disconnected from the net. Apparently Google is also working on an iPhone version (bad news for TomTom).
